Q: Can you tell us a little about what you do?
A: I consult high school and college students as well as adults in career transition to discover their strengths and talents. When individuals recognize their value, anything is possible. That’s why I’m passionate about helping clients understand their strengths, consider those strengths in college and career choices, and elevate those strengths to achieve the success they desire.
Q: What made you want to create a consulting business?
A: It's been a very personal journey for me. As a teen, I did what I was supposed to do academically and was a good student. However, my life revolved around my love for athletics. During my time at Butler, I was challenged – like so many college students – to figure out what I wanted “to be when I grow up,” outside of basketball. I ended up pursuing a degree in Business and learned a tremendous amount about who I was and what made me tick. It certainly wasn’t the accounting side of business. I was intrigued by the human element of growing and maximizing a business. I wanted to help people, just like my teammates, become incredible at what they do by coaching them to understand their strengths and surround themselves with mentors and leaders to motivate them to excel.
As a consultant, I’m passionate about providing the necessary tools to take each person or organization to a new level of achievement and success.
Q: What lessons in entrepreneurship have you learned while growing your consulting business?
A: First, you need to find a mentor along the way. Someone who believes in you, encourages you, and is willing to invest in you. Second, just kept learning, growing, showing up, and taking chances!
Q: What do you love about the Fishers community?
A: Energy and growth. I have always believed you find what you are looking for and I have met so many wonderful, helpful people here. I started at Launch Fishers three years ago and just transitioned to Cage Campus. It's a tremendous to be around people who are not only great business minds, but also kind and focused on helping people grow.
